When summer hits and the workday is spent in a dim, air-conditioned office, making it easy to forget the places in the East Bay where you can beat the heat.We’ve done some digging around and found seven of our favorite places to cool off this summer.
Hurricane Harbor
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Concord delivers Northern California’s greatest water park thrills. The Park is at 1950 Waterworld Pkwy, Concord, CA..There are thrilling water slides, the biggest wave pool in the area, Northern California’s longest lazy river, and inventive water activities for children of all ages. Try to get here early to take advantage of the water rides because it gets packed!
Cull Canyon Swim Complex
The Cull Canyon Recreation Area is readily accessible from 18627 Cull Canyon Rd, Castro Valley, CA. It has an 11-foot-deep chlorinated lake surrounded by a tree-lined floating dock. This lake is well-liked by adults and older children.

Aqua Adventure Waterpark
Fremont’s Aqua Adventure Water Park is an outdoor water park. The water park is at 40500 Paseo Padre Pkwy, Fremont, CA. Admission includes four attractions and two slide complexes; cabanas, a party room, and picnic areas are available.
Lake Anza
Lake Anza is a freshwater swimming hole in Tilden Regional Park’s hills. This swimming hole is a favorite site for both Berkeley residents and tourists. Located at Lake Anza Road off of Central Park Drive, Berkeley, CA. It’s the ideal destination to hike through the berkeley hills, grab some ice cream and enjoy the warm sand and cool off in the freshwater.
Silliman Family Aquatic Center
Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center at 6800 Mowry Ave, Newark, CA. This indoor water park for all ages is perfect for families. Two slides, a lazy river, a kid’s pool, and a hot tub are available. While their youngsters swim, parents may rest at the café. Pools and equipment are well-maintained, and lifeguards keep an eye on the pool to ensure everyone’s safety.
City Center Bishop Ranch
City Center Bishop Ranch is a contemporary lifestyle located at 6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd, Suite 2650 in San Ramon, CA. Bordeaux, France’s Miroir d’eau (Water Mirror) inspired the water fountain feature. City Center recreates Miroir des Quais, the world’s biggest reflecting pool.Every hour, the dazzling liquid drains into a pool of water. When water evaporates, fog develops, resulting in an intense sensory experience lasting around 10 minutes.

The Dublin Wave
The Wave is the newest and most exciting community amenity that the city of Dublin offers. Located at 4201 Central Pkwy, Dublin, CA. The state-of-the-art aquatics facility has a total area of 31,000 square feet. It features an indoor pool, an outdoor sports pool, a water slide tower, and a splash zone!
